April 4th 2010 --- Easter Sunday

We started the day with our first canoeing experience. The sun was shining, no winds and it was pretty warm - the day was just made for hopping in the canoe. It was very wobbly in the beginning and I really feared we could end up in the still very cold water. We got more and more confident, though and enjoyed paddeling around. What a beautiful day.

Then we had to get ready for the city - Easter dinner at Lyann's place. She had just moved in there one week ago. It was a pleasure meeting her brother and her sister-in-law and her roommate.

The food was great (ham, scallopped potatoes, beets, salad and apple crisp and tea) and we had a great time. But we all got the feeling that we should spend some time outside.

Lyann went with us to visit the "Dingle" on Purcell's Cove road. It was just nice standing in the sun, watching the ocean and chatting.

Then Lyann had the idea to visit her (Squash) friend who lives on Purcell's Cove Road. Said and done. Another nice chat in a house I definitely would love to live in. The view over the harbour of Halifax from her living room is just breathtaking.

After bringing Lyann back to her home we actually wanted to go home and cook something, but being nearly on the MacKay Bridge we changed minds and went to Freeman's Pizza at Quinpool Rd ... a good pizza ... yummy and then back home. A long, but great day. Thanks Lyann for sharing it with us.
