April 1st 2010 --- already April??? A day at the beach.

Already April? Wow, time is running fast ... but when I think back ... we are here for a long time already. No complaining. Not at all. It seems like the cold is gone, if I dare to say that. Good feeling. Day trip! Day trip!!! :O)
Talking about being here for a long time ... there are things I have really got used to already. There we have the kind ladies over the counter of the supermarket, who pack everything in bags for free. I know that's not eco-friendly ... but ... but it's just great. We went to an Atlantic Superstore where you have to pack your things by yourself last week and at once I told Gabi that we are not going there anymore ... lol. Not sure about the lady who packed the 5liter water 'bottle' in a bag today ... hehe.

Anyway. After a short breakfast we went in direction Cole Harbour and further on to Lawrencetown. A walk at the beach. It was pretty warm outside, about 14°C and I loved the fog coming from the sea. We followed the Marine Drive East, with a short detour to Seaforth.

We went through Chezzetcook, stopped at the Tin Roof (nice shop, but I could resist buying something ... yeah!) to go to Musquodoboit Harbour. There we stopped at the bank to cash traveller cheques. The first time we actually had to pay a fee for that, but the lady was so nice and friendly that it felt ok ;o).

The Fish & Chips shop "Fish'n Fries" seemed to be a busy one, so we decided to buy some fish & chips to eat them somewhere at the ocean. Said and done. Martinique Beach - 12 km seemed to be  agood spot. Unfortunately it started to rain. Nice to sit in the car, watch the waves rolling in and have some delicious (!!!) fish & chips anyway! I definitely want to go there again during the next weeks. A short walk at the beach in the rain before we started back to Halifax.
Some before "Good Friday" shopping before crossing the bridge and then to the Spring Garden Road --- Starbucks --- yes. Don't get me wrong. I do love Tim Hortons, but I love my Caramel Macchiato ... or something else with espresso in it ;o). I'm just used to it. We were browsing through the Coast for some live entertainment. But we actually were too tired ... so we simply went home! Lovely day!
