April 10th 2010 --- Thom Swift House concert ... the real deal.

After getting ready for the day we started in direction Chester. We went Hammonds Plains Rd and then took the Hwy to get there. Some shopping in the small shops - no new necklace, though. Kim Dunn on the street (just for the record ;o)). The weather wasn't as beautiful as expected, even some rain.

We took the Lighthouse Route along the shore line, as we haven't done that before at this part yet. It was really nice, but didn't impress me - I actually don't know why. Maybe it was just the weather or ...  I don't know. We made a stop in Fox Point at a shop to buy some chocolate and that shop didn't impress me at all ... lol. Not recommended ... hehe.
Anyway we were right in time for the house concert and followed the directions in Boutiliers Point. That was easy. We were quite surprised to see so many houses on the top of the hill overlooking St. Margaret's Bay. Wow ... and all wonderful houses, what a great place to live! And what a great place to attend a house concert. Lovely! It was great meeting Anne and all the other nice people and it was great seeing Thom again. That's the way to do a house concert (so as BA does ... always thinking back on that wonderful Martyn Joseph concert with lots of friends!!!).

Gabi has just reminded me of another brilliant house concert we attended, Dave Gunning in 2008, including the great, great kayak experience! Also an awesome evening to remember!

We got a drink and took seat on a sofa! I love house concerts like that (very different to the Madison Violet one in the UK). Thom Swift started and like he said it was the real deal ... without any kind of sound system. Just his voice and his guitar - just great.
In the intermission they served delicious snacks and it was nice to chat to some of the other guests!

Then we got more music, including my favourite song "Seafoam". Finally without any disturbing chatting, like at the ECMAs ;o). Wonderful! And after that song Thom thanked us for coming - now everyone in the audience knew we are from Germany ... lol.

Thanks for the nice words Thom. :o))) A short chat with him after the concert and also with the other guests again! A lovely evening! It will get a place in the top 5 of the best music experiences during this trip!!! Thanks Anne, too! Ahhh I forget the nice mug I bought ... "blue sky day - Thom Swift mug" ... lovely (from a pottery in New Brunswick).
