March 19th 2010 --- we finally found our way around the South Shore

Another beautiful day in Nova Scotia ... we left early and it was still cold, but no clouds in the sky promised a brilliant day.
Our first stop was in Bridgewater at a way too crowded Tim Horton's and people seemed to be a little crazy there, don't know why. We followed the highway, because if we would have taken the scenic Lighthouse route we wouldn't have made it in one day. We stopped in Shelburne, I actually loved it there. A nice little village. We took a rest at the campground across the harbour. Beautiful there! The next time we left the highway was in Barrington, going to Cape Sable with the view to Cape Sable Island ... a beautiful sandy beach.

We went along the Lighthouse Route to Yarmouth. I actually loved all the small coloured houses along the road ... lots of fishing there.

Yarmouth was for me a town like Sydney. I didn't really like Sydney, until the ECMAs this year ... simply staying for a longer time and exploring. So for really liking Yarmouth I'd need more time and a special connection. We went back on the highway again and as the sun was going down we stoppped for taking a short nap. Wow, that doesn't actually happen to me a lot, that I fall asleep in the car.
Digby was really nice - a lovely fishing town.
We went to New Minas in the dark (on the highway), went for dinner to Boston Pizza and then to Dooley's to meet Crystal and see Mark Cameron. Really nice to meet Crystal and her husband, it was too loud for a proper conversation, though. I would really love to do that one day. Mark and his band did a really good job, but we were tired and had still one hour to go, so we decided to leave early. We went back to Waverley on a very lonely highway ;o). 750 km done!
