Ok … we are here. I could tell you that everything went wrong, but I'm in a good mood --- so I say everything went different. It all started with a delay in Munich, what didn't really matter as we had a long time spot in Toronto for changing planes and so we were able to have a coffee with Gabi sister, who was flying back to Ethiopia --- great! We had a pleasant flight, flying over Manchester ;o) … cloudy skies all the time until we reached Labrador. That was beautiful --- snow covered coastline, frozen lakes --- great! Suddenly, short before the plane was supposed to land the screen said "1 hour until arrival" --- because of huge air traffic and blowing snow, we had to wait for a time spot. In the end it was a pretty strange touch down on a snow covered run. Never experienced that before!!! Then customs … for the first time to the immigration office.
Ok, the plane wasn't only delayed it was kinda cancelled. They put all people from three flights together on the latest one --- 9pm --- due to rain and heavy winds planes weren't able to land in Halifax during the day. Ok … waiting again. After boarding the plane it took another hour, due to a fuel problem and de-icing of the plane. As we sat in the last row I heard the stewards talking about maybe flying back to Toronto --- 10 minutes before the arrival in Halifax, but we went down … heavy, heavy winds!!!
As we wanted to pick up the car, our office was closed --- 1.30am. So we rented another one for one day, drove to our B&B which is actually very lovely!!!
The owner was still awake and waiting for us at 2.30am!
And here we are! it just took us 24 hours from door to door. Thanks to my mum for the breakfast at the airport in Munich!
